The influence of sheet metal bending grinding tools on product precision and improvement measures

Publish Time: 2025-01-02
Sheet metal bending dies play a key role in sheet metal processing, and their performance is directly related to the accuracy of the product.

First of all, the manufacturing accuracy of the die is the primary factor affecting the accuracy of the product. If the dimensional deviation and geometric tolerance of the die do not meet the requirements, the sheet metal product after bending will inevitably have problems such as inaccurate size and angle deviation. For example, there is a slight deviation between the bending angle of the die and the design value. After multiple bending accumulations, the final shape of the product will be far from the ideal state.

Secondly, the wear condition of the die should not be ignored. During long-term use, frequent contact between the die and the sheet metal will cause wear on the die surface, especially at the bending part. The worn die will change the radius of the sheet metal bending part, affecting the dimensional accuracy and appearance quality of the product, which may cause the product to have too large a gap or be unable to be assembled during assembly.

Furthermore, the gap setting of the die has an important impact on the accuracy of the product. If the gap is too large, the sheet metal will be subjected to uneven forces during bending, which may easily cause defects such as wrinkles and deformation; if the gap is too small, the bending force will increase, resulting in increased mold wear and even possible rupture of the sheet metal, and the bending angle of the product will also be difficult to control.

In order to improve these problems and improve product accuracy, we must first strengthen quality control in the mold manufacturing process. Use high-precision processing equipment and advanced processing technology, and strictly manufacture in accordance with design requirements to ensure that the dimensional accuracy and form and position tolerances of the mold meet the standards.

During the use of the mold, a regular maintenance system should be established. Clean and lubricate the mold in time, check the wear, and repair or replace the severely worn parts in time to ensure the good working condition of the mold and reduce the impact of wear on product accuracy.

In addition, it is very important to reasonably select and adjust the mold gap. According to the thickness, material and other factors of the sheet metal material, the optimal mold gap value is determined by combining theoretical calculations with actual tests, and fine-tuned according to the product quality during use to ensure the stability of the bending process and the consistency of product accuracy.

At the same time, advanced mold materials and surface treatment technologies can also be considered. For example, use high-hardness, high-wear-resistant mold materials and coat the mold surface to improve the mold's wear resistance and corrosion resistance, thereby extending the mold's service life and indirectly ensuring product accuracy.

In short, by controlling the manufacturing accuracy of sheet metal bending molds, using maintenance, and reasonable design adjustments, the adverse effects of molds on product accuracy can be effectively reduced, and the quality and market competitiveness of sheet metal bending products can be improved.
